WHAT IS THIS PRODUCT?
The G-Cuffs are a positioning aid, generally prescribed by a health professional for people who need assistance to sleep symmetrically in bed. These are similar to the E-Wedge and other positioning products.
The foam inside the cuff is convoluted to assist with pressure care and blood flow. The cover is a soft, waterproof, breathable fabric that has an internal layer of thermoregulating material to help maintain the patient’s temperature. As part of the Pelican Sleep System, the G-Cuffs have hook tape sewn to the bottom to attach to either the Sleep System Positioning Sheet or mattress strap.
If the patient is moving frequently, placing some gauze around the limb may help reduce shearing and perspiration.
G-Cuffs can be used side by side on the ankles or above the knees when the patient is lying on their back. If the patient is lying on their side and using the Sleep System Positioning Sheet, the Cuffs can be placed under each ankle to secure the feet in a more natural position, as the ankles are not side by side.
They can also be used on the wrist or arm to maintain positioning. The small size is suitable for both children and adults, including paediatric above-knee abduction. The large size is more suitable for adult above-knee abduction. Securing above the knee may be more beneficial than securing at the ankle.
WHO IS THIS PRODUCT SUITABLE FOR?
The G-Cuffs are suitable for people who need to have their legs, ankles, or arms maintained in a specific position.
BRIEF INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Place the G-Cuffs around the ankles, wrists, or just above the knees. Feed the top foam section into the gap to create a firm fit, then fasten the hook & loop tape on the top to secure the cuff closed.
Next, position the G-Cuffs onto the mattress strap or Sleep System Positioning Sheet. The cuffs can be placed directly next to each other, or the legs can be separated with each cuff positioned as required.

Cleaning
CLEANING METHOD
Wipe clean or machine or hand wash.
MAXIMUM WASHING TEMPERATURE
80°C / 176°F.
DETERGENT
Use a mild hospital disinfectant and wipe cleaner, or use a detergent for washing. Do not use fabric softener.
DRYING METHOD
Air dry in the shade. Alternatively, tumble dry on a cool temperature and make sure the drum is cool.
CLEANING WARNING
