WHAT IS THIS PRODUCT?

The Soft CVA Arm Cushion is designed to hold subluxed arms. Its soft, moisture wicking cover and Hollow-Core Polyester Fibre filling make it comfortable for a patient’s arm and hand. There are two elasticised loops are sewn into the Cushion in case it is necessary to tie it to a chair.

The ordering options in the drop-down menu are:

Complete Product		Complete Soft Cushion, consisting of a White Cover with a zip, filled with Soft Hollow-Core Polyester Fibre and supplied in a zip-seal bag.
Cover Only – Black		To go on the outside of the Complete Product, to act like a pillow case and remove for washing. Black material may be more discreet, e.g. when used in a wheelchair in public.
Cover Only – Blue Waterproof		A waterproof, wipeable cover to go on the outside of the Complete Product, to act like a pillow case and remove for washing.
Cover Only – White		To go on the outside of the Complete Product, to act like a pillow case and remove for washing. The same white material as on the Complete Product.

When ordering the Complete Product, we recommend you purchase at least one additional Cover. This way, you can regularly remove and wash the outer Cover only, and not the Complete Product, unless it needs washing.

The Soft CVA Arm Cushion is suitable for individuals recovering from a stroke. It is designed to provide support and comfort for those experiencing weakness or paralysis in one arm, helping to reduce the risk of pressure sores and improve posture. This Cushion is especially beneficial for patients undergoing rehabilitation, as it promotes proper positioning and alignment, aiding in overall recovery and enhancing daily comfort during activities like sitting or resting.

BRIEF INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

A therapist or experienced carer should position the Soft CVA Arm Cushion. They may rearrange, add, or remove filling to suit individual patients. It is possible to create a channel to place the arm in, but still have the hand raised higher.

WHAT IS THIS PRODUCT MADE FROM?

The Cushion cover is made out of a soft white, four-way stretch material that wicks perspiration away from the body. A black zip is sewn onto the white material. By having a contrasting coloured zip, it is easier to make sure the patient’s skin is not resting on the zip.

WARNING

Sometimes, due to the patient deteriorating, the product may become unsuitable. Continuous monitoring is necessary and alternative products may be recommended.

CLEANING METHOD

Machine or hand wash.

MAXIMUM WASHING TEMPERATURE

80°C / 176°F.

DETERGENT

Use a mild detergent. Do not use fabric softener.

DRYING METHOD

Air dry in the shade. Alternatively, tumble dry on a cool temperature and make sure the drum is cool.
