WHAT IS THIS PRODUCT?

The Pressure Relief Memory Foam Cushion is a comfortable cushion used for someone either in a wheelchair or standard chair. It is designed to be as thin as possible so that people do not sit too high in the chair, while still providing good pressure care and comfort.

Two sizes are available:

  • 43cm x 43cm x 6cm / 17″ x 17″ x 2.4″
  • 48cm x 48cm x 6cm / 19″ x 19″ x 2.4″

Two foam densities are available:

  • A soft middle foam layer with a layer of memory foam on either side.
  • A firm middle foam layer with a layer of memory foam on either side. This firmer foam becomes more supple when the person’s body temperature warms it up.

Having memory foam on both sides means the cushion can be rotated to provide even wear over time.

3 cover options are available:

  • Polyester material cover – A comfortable stretch material.
  • Waterproof material cover – A breathable, waterproof stretch material, which is stitched together. The material can be wiped clean, but stitch holes may still allow moisture to reach the foam, which may be an issue for incontinent users.
  • Heat-sealed cover – A 100% sealed cover which can be wiped clean for infection control. This cover has an air reservoir flap which attaches underneath the chair to allow displaced air to move when sitting down. Without this, sitting would feel like sitting on a balloon.

WHO IS THIS PRODUCT SUITABLE FOR?

The Pressure Relief Memory Foam Cushion is suitable for people who need a comfortable, simple pressure care cushion, or for people at risk of developing pressure sores. There are more high-tech cushions on the market which aim to help treat pressure sores, but our range of cushions do not do that – they are a first line of defence against pressure sores.

For any heat-sealed product, ensure there are no cuts or damage to the material before use. Continuously monitor the person using this product to ensure there are no adverse pressure care issues.

Cleaning

POLYESTER & WATERPROOF COVER:

CLEANING METHOD

Foam: Remove the foam and rinse in water.
Cover: Machine or hand wash the cover. 

MAXIMUM WASHING TEMPERATURE

Foam: Warm.
Cover: 80°C / 176°F. 

DETERGENT

Use a mild detergent. Do not use fabric softener. 

DRYING METHOD

Foam: Air dry in the shade.
Cover: Air dry in the shade. Alternatively, tumble dry on a cool temperature and make sure the drum is cool. 

CLEANING WARNING

Only use and store the product when it is dry.
