- Important Information
The Knee Separator is made of foam covered in soft interlock material, used to help prevent the patient’s knees rubbing together when lying in bed. The Knee Separator will replace using an undignified pillow and is easy to wash.
Position the thick central part of the pad on one leg, so it protects the knees from each other. Fasten the two soft elasticised Hook & Loop Tape straps to keep the separator in position. Very bony people may need a pad on both knees. The Knee Separator has also been used on some patients sitting in chairs and not just to separate knees, but also on the back of the leg to pad the leg from the chair frame. They can also be used on arms etc. as protective pads.
An alternative product is the Pressure Pad (sold separately). This protects the knees and ankles.
Item # 160
Wash up to 80°C (176°F). Air or tumble dry on a cool setting, ensuring the drum is cool. Ensure the product is dry before using or storing.
This product is to help with the prevention of pressure sores. Sometimes, due to the patient deteriorating, the product may become unsuitable. Continuous monitoring is necessary and alternative products may be recommended.
Are the Knee Separators sold singly or as a pair?
Singly - you only need the Knee Separator on one knee, not both, to keep the foam in position.
