WHAT IS THIS PRODUCT?

The purpose of the Wrist/Ankle Restraint Webbing Padding is to protect patients who are restrained using the Pelican Wrist/Ankle Restraint Webbing (sold separately).

The Padding is made from a soft, flexible, waterproof, and breathable material, and the cover is heat-sealed for infection control.

WHO IS THIS PRODUCT SUITABLE FOR?

This product is used for people who can be safely restrained, under observation.

BRIEF INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

First determine the size of the patient’s limbs, and use the red coloured wipeable material for small limbs and blue for larger limbs. Once the patient is under control, remove the restraint one limb at a time, and ensure the patient remains under control while adding the padding to the webbing.

Thread the restraint webbing under the loops on the outside of the padding, put the restraint back on the patient, and fasten it to the bed, trolley, or other appropriate surface.

Please note that hospital staff may modify these instructions for individual patients in certain circumstances.

WARNING: Frequently remove the Padding and Restraint to inspect the patient’s skin for chaffing or discolouration that may be the start of a pressure sore. It the skin looks compromised, seek medical help
