Description
WHAT IS THIS PRODUCT?
The Stand Up Helper enables a carer to assist a person to stand up from a chair, wheelchair, car, bed, or from the floor. Made from durable webbing that is comfortable to hold, and folds flat for easy storage and transport.
An advantage of using this product is the carer is not pulling directly on the person’s arms, which could cause bruising or even dislocation. The Stand Up Helper will not make the carer any stronger, but they can use their body weight to help the person to stand up.
WHO IS THIS PRODUCT SUITABLE FOR?
The Stand Up Helper is suitable for people who have difficulty standing up from a chair.
BRIEF INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
The person and carer both hold onto the Stand Up Helper. Using a good manual handling technique, the carer steps backwards while ensuring the person stands safely.
WHAT IS THIS PRODUCT MADE FROM?
Webbing, plastic.
WARNING
Before using the Stand Up Helper, always assess if the patient is able to stand independently when they are on their feet. Make sure their feet are correctly positioned for standing. If they normally use a walking frame or walking stick, these must be within easy reach once they are standing.
The suitability of this product may vary depending on the ability of the patient or the carer.
