Thermo Regulating Pillow Cover
Item # 943
72cm x 46cm - Special sizes made to order
Some people may not be able to control their body temperature when sleeping. This may be due to a number of reasons that may include but are not limited to: reaction to medication they are taking, menopause, physical disability that prevents them from removing the bed blankets or it could even be a personal condition such as a form of Hyperhidrosis, etc.
The Pelican range of Thermo Regulating (TR) Material items may help some of these people. The TR Material was first developed to help astronauts in space maintain their body temperature. The material should help to 'keep cool people warm' and 'keep warm people cool'. The material allows heat from the body to escape and if the body is getting cold, it traps the warmth of the body. Different versions of the TR Material are now used for extreme snow sports clothing, some other specialised clothing and even in shoes to help people who have hot feet. Many people who are under cancer treatment such as chemotherapy and radiotherapy (radiation therapy) may find a benefit from the cooling material.
As the reason why people perspire can vary a lot, we cannot guarantee the TR Material will work for everyone. As it will be used for sleeping, due to Infection Control requirements, we regret that we are not able to accept the items back for credit if they do not work.
To Fit: The Thermo Regulating Pillow Cover is made to fit over most pillows. Another standard pillow case that matches the bed sheets can then be put over the top of the Thermo Regulating Pillow Cover .
The standard size Thermo Regulating Pillow Cover is 72cm X 46cm, but special sizes can be made to measure on request.
The Thermo Regulating Pillow Cover is one item in Pelican's Thermo Regulating range of items which includes the Thermo Regulating mattress Cover, Thermo Regulating Top Sheet and the Thermo Regulating Duvet Insert.
Warning for Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Home Care or other facilities: Be aware that this item may mask the effects if someone does get an infection. Always check with a medical therapist that this item will be suitable.
Washing: Hand or Machine Wash up to 80°C. Air Dry in Shade or Cool Tumble Dry. We recommend using a Pelican Washing Bag, Item 205 when machine washing this item to give a longer life, as washing can destroy the material faster than using it, just like a normal bed sheet.
