Wool Bed Slipper / Arm Protector
- Important Information
Made from 100% pure sheep’s wool, specially treated for Hospital conditions to help prevent pressure problems and to be easy to machine or hand wash. The wool has a knitted back cloth that allows air to breathe, whereas sheepskin has a leather skin backing.
These Bed Slippers are placed under the foot with the heel laid in the shaped section. This is in the middle of the Bed Slipper so that it cannot be fitted the wrong way around. The Bed Slipper is big enough to protect the toes on most patients and it should be folded around the foot and leg, and secured in position with the Hook and Loop straps. Depending on the individual patient’s movement, the Hook and Loop straps can be a loose fit as shown in the diagram.
Sometimes this product is used to protect patient’s arms where fragile skin can easily be damaged when being attended to by nursing staff. The Wool pad can be cut with scissors if it is too large for some patients to make a more comfortable fit and the Velcro can also be cut shorter.

If the sheepskin has been soaked with urine, it should be rinsed with cold water as soon as possible, then washed as above. This sheepskin may be dry-cleaned. Air well after dry-cleaning.
