The Chair Pad is made from a special foam and breathable sports material that allows air to flow freely through it.
Many chairs for elderly people are covered in a wipeable vinyl type of material, to make it easier for cleaning. As these materials do not breathe, the people sitting or lying in the chairs may become hot and perspire.
Quite often the Carers place cotton sheets on top of the chairs. These are very large and may bunch up or drape over the sides of the chair, making the person look undignified. To make fitted covers for the chairs is very expensive. They may also not fit correctly due to the many different designs of chairs.
About the Chair Pad
The material cover is designed with micro-holes. This allows perspiration to easily pass through. When combined with the foam, this provides a comfortable liner that will help insulate the person from the vinyl chair cover. The foam also keeps the pad in place as it clings to the chair. Unless the person is moving a lot, it will not get creased under people.
A separate medical wool overlay can be used on top of this product if necessary.
