WHAT IS THIS PRODUCT?

The Bed Side Wedge Alarm Pad can be added to our Bed Side Wedges or Bed Side Wedge – One Side to alert Carers when a Patient presses down on a Wedge while getting out of bed, or when they lean against a Wedge.

The Alarm Pad is available with an Alarm Box which sounds inside the Patient’s room. Alternatively, a 10m / 33ft Extension Cord can be used to take the Alarm Box to another room.

For facilities with a Nurse Call Paging System, the Alarm Pad is available with a Nurse Call Plug to sound an alert through the system.

Usually, only one Alarm Pad is needed in a Wedge near the Patient’s shoulders on the side of the bed they normally get out of.

Two Bed Side Wedge Alarm Pads can be joined together using a Y-Connector, which can be plugged into a single Alarm Box or Nurse Call Socket. For people who want to use more than one Alarm Pad, the Alarm Pad & Y-Connector option is available in the drop-down menu. This can be added to an Alarm Pad with Alarm Box or Alarm Pad with Nurse Call Plug.

Suitable for alerting staff or Carers if a Patient is trying to get out of bed.

BRIEF INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

The Alarm Pad should be installed between the outer sleeve and the Wedge cushion. We recommend positioning the Alarm Pad on the side of the Wedge that faces toward the Patient, or on the outside.

The Alarm will not sound if the Patient gets out of bed and does not touch the Wedge. If getting out of bed is a problem, we suggest using a Stand-Up Floor Alarm.

CLEANING WARNING

Only use and store the product when it is dry. Test your cleaning chemicals on a discreet area to make sure it will not damage the material.
Do not machine wash or submerse the Alarm Pad in water.

If the Alarm Pad becomes soiled, it should be disposed of and replaced.

Warranty: 12 months.

Warning: When using a double adaptor, if the Patient’s Nurse Call button is removed from the adaptor, then the automatic Nurse Call system may not alert staff. There may be occasions when the facility does not want the Patient to have a Nurse Call button as they may have dementia and be pushing the button for no reason. We understand that the Patients should always have access to a Nurse Call button, so if this is removed, we recommend documenting this in their care plan. If the Patient’s Nurse Call button is removed then the Pelican Stand Up Alarm can be plugged directly into the wall socket without using the double adaptor.
