At the moment about 890 people receive this Pelican Announce eNewsletter. We'd like to see this figure increase as it's a great way of letting you know about new items and other news. If each of you could get just one more person on the list, then that would double the number of people who will receive it. The easiest way to add a name on the list is to go to our website www.pelicanmanufacturing.com.au and add the email address in the box on the bottom left hand side. Alternatively, you can email or myself, and just ask to be added. Thank you to everyone who can help with this!
New items - More Alarms…
Our Stand-Up Alarms have been very helpful in monitoring people who may be using a restraint prior to having an alarm. We have recently introduced some more special alarms. Click on the following items for more information:
Unfortunately due to raw material price increases we have been forced to have a slight price increase. Some items will be going up a couple of dollars, some a bit more, and some items will remain the same. The price increases should be coming in October. Try to beat the price prise by placing your orders in September.
Perth Ceiling Hoist Workshop…
We would like to announce that we will be hosting a day for those interested to see our range of Waverley Glen Ceiling Hoist demonstrated.
Harry Lubansky from Rehab Assist (Waverley Glen's main Australian distributor) will be giving a workshop to answer any queries regarding the ceiling hoists. It should only take about an hour to go through everything. If you are in Perth and would like to attend a workshop please contact us.
Date: Thursday October 20th
News from around the world…
From NBC News Website:
Nursing Homes in the US will be forced by law to fingerprint all prospective non-licensed employees. The fingerprints are submitted to the FBI for a nationwide criminal background check. This law came into effect on April 1. The law also states that if prospective employees refuse to give their fingerprint, they cannot be employed by the facility.
An interesting book called 'Numbers' written by David Boyle and Anita Roddick (of Body Shop fame) published by Sterling Solutions states that the "average time on seconds that US patients are allowed to speak before being interrupted by their doctor: 18 seconds".
