New Item - Blue Bed Slide Sheets Over the years we have made blue Bed Slide Sheets as special items for some customers. This item is now a standard product and is in stock. The material used is the same as our popular breathable and very quiet red material, and comes in two sizes – 1x1.5m (Item # 507QB, AUD$22) and 2x1.5m (Item # 507QB2, AUD$33). Remember there are a couple of alternative items to Bed Slide Sheets such as: Slide & Turn Sheet (can be left under patients, removing the need to log roll them) Slide & Turn Hoist Sheet (can be fitted to a hoist) Turn Yourself Sheet (to help people with limited strength turn from side to side) Remember there are demonstration videos of these items on our website.

TGA finds Pelican Alarms do not affect PacemakersSomeone in a nursing home recently thought one of our patient monitoring Chair Alarms was affecting their pacemaker when they walked into a room. We had a laboratory test done on the Chair and Floor Alarms and the TGA also investigated the incident. We sent some new Alarms to the TGA and they also got the original alarm from the facility to test. After the TGA conducted their scientific tests they found that our Alarms could not have any effect on people’s pacemakers. Special Items – Ambulance Walk Belts and Slide Boards Some major Australian Ambulance Services recently requested some special Handi-Lift/Walk Belts to be made. These Walk Belts have two waist buckles and no Velcro so that they are easier for washing. The Ambulance Services also had special Handi-Lifts with four padded handles. They use this equipment for transferring people who need assistance in standing and walking or when combined with the Handi-Lift. In special circumstances they may need to physically carry the person if they cannot use a wheelchair or stretcher. They also requested special Slide Boards that can lean against a wall without falling over. The Slide Boards are 6mm thick and a lot lighter to carry when compared to our 10mm thick Slide Boards. They have a Hand Slot instead of the webbing loop we normally provide for carrying. If any of these products are of interest to you, please call us on 1800 641 477.
