Item in development - Single Patient Disposable Slings

Single Patient Disposable Sling
We have been asked a few times over the years about supplying disposable slings. We are currently developing a disposable sling and would like to get an idea of how much demand for this item there may be.
These slings can be used many times. The lifetime of these slings is less than our standard slings, so they may need to be replaced if used often. If soiled, they can be washed and reused. However, normally they are only disposed of once the patient has been discharged.
If you think there is a place for disposable slings in your facility please send an email to
with a quick message at the top saying 'interested in disposable slings', or words to that effect.
Website Update – Product Photographs

We are currently doing a major update to our website.
We are replacing the diagrams of the products with photographs, giving a much better impression of them. When you go to our website, remember to keep pressing your ‘refresh’ button in case we have updated the page you are looking at.
Foam Price Increase Imminent
Some months ago our suppliers said that the price of foam is expected to go up by around 12-13% this month (December). This means that we will also need to look at increasing the price of our affected items. The 12-13% foam price increase does not mean our prices will be going up that much as our items are not solely made from foam. Most foam items we supply may go up $2-$5.
We will be likely to implement the new prices sometime in January, so if you are thinking of placing an order please keep this in mind as it will be hard for us to supply our customers at current prices from after January.
At the time of sending this, we are still waiting for confirmation about the increases. We hope they have been deferred to later next year.
Item Highlights – For Bed Falls

Above left to right: Bed Fall Mat – Sewn version, The Bed Fall Mats – Heat Sealed version, Floor Alarm.
The Bed Fall Mats are firm enough to walk on, but will absorb impact and reduce the likelihood of
injuries when people fall out of bed. Visible tape alert staff it is in position.
The Bed Fall Mats are becoming increasingly popular as a way of reducing injuries from bed falls. Instead of using bed rails, many facilities are now using very low beds, and placing our Bed Fall Mats on the floor next to the bed, so that if someone falls out of bed, it is more of a ‘roll’ onto the impact absorbing Bed Fall Mat. The facilities are finding a lower number of falls and a much lower rate of injuries this way. When using bed rails, the persons would be falling from a much greater height than with low beds.
The Mats can be folded into three for easy storage when not in use. Infection control officers will prefer the Heat Sealed version, because anything which is heat sealed does not allow anywhere for bacteria to live. The sewn version is also available for a reduced price.
Features/benefits/advantages:
- Impact absorbent foam, but still firm enough to walk on
- Visible tape on the edge, and laminated warning sign to alert staff
- Folds into three for easy storage
- Vinyl material can be wiped clean
- Heat Sealed version for 100% safe infection control
Another item which is often used in conjunction with the Bed Fall Mats is the Stand-Up Floor Alarm. This alarm can be placed either on it’s own next to the bed, or underneath the Bed Fall Mat, and alerts carers when someone has fallen out of bed. Two versions of the alarm are available – one which makes a sound in the room or corridor, and one which plugs into the nurse call system (so long as the system is compatible) which will set off carer’s pagers.
If the patent is able to walk a few metres then the Floor Alarm is used without the Bed Fall Mat. When the patient puts their feet on the Alarm it will sound a warning before the patient has started to stand up.
