Restraints & Safety ItemsIn many countries restraints are prescription-only items. We only
recommend restraining after alternatives have been tried and failed. It is very important to make sure
the correct restraint is used and fitted correctly. Our range covers belt type restraints for laps,
sometimes known as 'seat belts', vest type restraints, bed restraints, arms restraints, Hand Mitts,
and wrist restraints used for aggressive patients (often in emergency rooms). Where possible, we try to
use non-restrictive restraints such as the Sit, Slide &
Stand Pad and Chair Wedge
Anti-Slide, where patients are not physically strapped into or onto anything. Our chair and bed
restraints need to be suitable for patients' individual behaviour. For a general guide on
restraining, please click here to view the PDF.
