Stand-Up Doorway Alarm - Standard
Item # 444D (Sounding Alarm Box)
Stand-Up Alarms can be a very helpful way of monitoring a patient's movement, without physical or chemical restraining. They are normally used with people who stand up from a chair or get out of bed and could fall over. However, sometimes the patients may be able to walk, but due to dementia, they may put themselves or others in danger.
The Doorway Alarm can be used to monitor several people in a lounge room or if used in the bathroom, the occupant can freely walk around in the room, to their ensuite etc, but the alarm will only sound if they leave the room.
It is important to make sure there are no gaps either side of the pad when it is placed in the door. This is to ensure that the alarm will sound and it will only go off when weight is put on it.
This item is also available with a Nurse Call plug which connects into the facility's nurse call system (see separate item). This way, instead of making an alarm sound, when a patient gets up it will set off the nurses' pagers. This is great for night time when other residents are sleeping.
Spare internal contact sheets are available.

The alarm cord length is 5m. and the sounding alarm version of this alarm is powered by batteries.
