Soft Transfer Belt - Small

These transfer belts are sometimes referred to as 'Pelican Belts', 'Johnny Belts' or simply 'Transfer Belts'.

This popular belt is used for transferring patients. The belts have four large padded vertical handles. The belts are normally used with two Carers working together, but if necessary, one Carer can work alone, depending on the patient.

The Soft Transfer Belt is similar to the Pelican Handi-Lift/Walk Belt and is used in the same manner. Instead of a Velcro fastening, the Soft Transfer Belt has a buckle and is suitable when the patient has a ‘pendulous’ bust or if their body shape requires a narrower belt fastening. This is easily adjusted for size to suit a variety of patients. The soft padded Belt is slip resistant.

What's the difference between the Handi-Lift/Walk Belt, the Soft Transfer Belt and the Gait Belt?

The Gait Belt was the first walking & transferring belt we made many years ago. It has more or less been superseded by both the Handi-Lift/Walk Belt and the Soft Transfer Belt, which are much wider and more comfortable than the Gait Belt. The Soft Transfer Belt is entirely padded, whereas the other two are not (only the handles of the Handi-Lift/Walk Belt are padded). The Soft Transfer Belt also uses an adjustable buckle at the front (so it can be used for a variety of sizes of people), while the Handi-Lift/Walk Belt comes in different sizes.

What sizes does the Soft Transfer Belt cover?

This belt will go from 65cm (26in) up to 130cm (51in). It is made bigger or smaller by altering the amount of webbing that threads through the buckle at the front.
