Stand-Up Chair Alarm - Nurse Call

Stand-Up Alarms can be a very helpful way of monitoring a patient's movement, without physical or chemical restraining. They are normally used with people who stand up from a chair or get out of bed and could fall over. However, sometimes the patients may be able to walk, but due to dementia, they may put themselves or others in danger.

This item warns staff that the patient is about to stand up or has stood up. The alarm noise is near the patient and this may help the patient to remember not to stand up, as the noise will stop if they sit down again.

There is a slight delay built into this alarm so that if weight is temporarily taken off the pad, i.e. to slightly change the seating position, it will not alarm. The delay is around one second.

This item is available with a Nurse Call plug which connects into the facility's nurse call system. This means that instead of making an alarm sound, when a patient gets up it will set off the nurse's pager. This is great for night time when other residents are sleeping.

You just need to be sure that your nurse call plugs are compatible with the plug we supply (see picture, right, with either 1 or 2 black bands), as not all plugs will work. If your plug is not compatible, then it will mean you need to either have your maintenance department try to change the plug, or use the standard sounding alarm box type of alarm.
