Leg Lifter for Two Feet

Leg Lifter for Two Feet Video
Item # 232T

Lifting a patient’s legs on to the bed is a manual handling task. If the patient can lift their own legs, it makes less lifting for the Carer. The Pelican Leg Lifter for one leg may be helpful, but it can be difficult to lift both feet at the same time, so the Leg Lifter for Two Feet may be easier for the patients. These are available in the original webbing material and also with a wipe clean vinyl material to help fight
cross-infection.

To Use: Lower the bed so the patient can sit safely on the side of the bed. The patient places both feet inside the foot loops. By leaning forward the patient holds the lowest lifting loop they can reach to make a comfortable lift. Keeping their arm straight and extending their legs forward, they should lean back. As the patient leans backwards, they should use their body weight to lift their feet off the floor. The Carer can then move their feet to position them on the bed.

When getting out of bed, some patients may use the Leg Lifter for Two Feet to help sit up in bed, and then reverse the procedure. If the patient is unable to help, the Carer may still be able to use the leg lifter to help lift the legs without having to bend. To help the patient swivel around on the bed, we suggest either the Handi Soft Turn Pad, or a folded Bed Slide Sheet.

Consult your Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist or Back Care Specialist when using Manual Handling Products.

Washing: Spray & wipe clean with disinfectant or hand or machine wash cover only, up to 80°C. Air or cool tumble dry.
