Bed Step

The Bed Step is designed to help patients get into and out of bed, when the bed will not go down low enough. This may be due to the design of the bed, particularly if an overlay pressure mattress is fitted to the bed. The patient will be 20cm taller by using the Bed Step, so when they sit on the bed their bottom may go nearer to the middle of the bed, making it easier for them to lie down closer to the middle of the bed.

The Bed Step has a wipeable medical grade, heat sealed vinyl cover. It has non-slip Miracle Grip on the bottom to help prevent it from moving. A carry loop is provided to make it easier for staff to carry the Bed Step.

To Use: The Bed Step is placed along side the bed, so that when the patient is standing facing the head of the bed, they can step onto the first Step possibly having a hand on the mattress to steady themselves. ensure their heel is in front of the marked line. The Step is large enough to have two feet on them. They can shuffle forward and mount the second step, then they can do a quarter turn so their bottom will be positioned to sit on the side of the bed.

The Bed step can also be used for getting ON or OFF ambulance trolleys.

Warning: Most patients will need assistance from a Carer when using this product.

Cleaning: The Bed Step can be hosed down and wiped clean with disinfectant . The Miracle Grip is only attached at the sides, so the cover and the Miracle Grip can be cleaned by carefully wiping under the open ends of the Miracle Grip. Dry with a clean cloth and thoroughly air dry after cleaning. If the lines fade re-apply them with a red texta.
